“Dance on E” Community Dance Project aims to engage Eastern District residents through dance workshops, training courses, community dance days, and performances. The program seeks to inspire interest in dance, strengthen community bonds, and encourage residents of all ages to build a sense of belonging within their neighborhood.
The main objectives of the program include fostering community spirit through dance activities, providing professional dance production support to root the performing arts in the district, and promoting dance culture. It also offers a platform for young talent to be discovered and helps participants develop personally. By engaging in the program, residents will improve communication, teamwork, and contribute to the idea of “community bonding.”
A key feature of the program is its focus on the Eastern District, with all activities—workshops, rehearsals, performances, and the final showcase—taking place locally. The program encourages participants to reflect on the past, engage with the present, and explore future possibilities. Professional dance training and production support will give participants the chance to showcase their talents in professional performances and experience the art of dance and music.
Community performances will involve participants from different age groups, promoting interaction and collaboration across generations. The final showcase will feature guest performances by professional dancers. Additionally, the program will include post-performance sharing sessions to further establish street dance as a key cultural element of the Eastern District. As we look ahead to 2025, Move Beyond will bring this meaningful project to the district of Tsuen Wan to reach to a wider audience.
